Guangzhou (JLC), July 10, 2023--China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, remained unchanged on a year-on-year basis in June 2023, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) shows on Monday.
However, the June CPI was down 0.2% compared with May.
In Jan-June 2023, the CPI was 0.7% higher than the corresponding period of 2022, the NBS said.
Meanwhile, China's producer price index (PPI), which measures costs for goods at the factory gates, dropped 0.8% and 5.4% on month and on year in June respectively, according to the NBS.
In the first half of 2023, the PPI was down 3.1% compared with the same period of 2022.
