Beijing (JLC), December 10, 2025—China’s foreign trade rose 4.1% to 3.9 trillion (trn) yuan in November, marking the tenth straight month of growth, data from the General Administration of Customs of the PRC (GACC) indicated.

The export and import value reached 2.35 trn yuan and 1.55 trn yuan, rising by 5.7% and 1.7% compared with November 2024, respectively.

From January to November 2025, China’s foreign trade amounted to 41.21 trn yuan, a 3.6% increase from the year-ago level. The country’s exports and imports were 24.46 trn yuan and 16.75 trn yuan, up 6.2% and 0.2% year on year, respectively.

Mechanical and electrical products, including new energy vehicles (NEVs), lithium-ion batteries, solar cells, and ships, served as the primary drivers of export growth. This category expanded by 8.8%, accounting for 60.9% of the country's total exports.

Private enterprises, as the mainstay of foreign trade, saw their imports and exports hit 23.52 trn yuan, up 7.1% year on year. The number of private enterprises trading with foreign countries rose by 66,000.

The trade value between China and its largest trading partner, ASEAN, exceeded 6.82 trn yuan, rising by 8.5% from the year-ago level. Besides, trade with Africa, Latin America, and the EU climbed by 18.7%, 5.6% and 5.4%, respectively.

On December 1, 2024, China granted zero-tariff treatment on 100% of product lines to the least developed countries with which it has established diplomatic relations. Over the past year, the country imported over 55 billion yuan of products from these countries.

In the first 11 months of 2025, the total trade through China’s free trade zones and Hainan Free Trade Port registered 8.07 trn yuan, contributing about 20% to the nation’s total. Foreign trade through Hainan Free Trade Port in November increased by 9.1% year on year. Hainan will launch island-wide independent customs operation on December 18. By then, goods entering or leaving the island, except those destined for the Chinese mainland, will be subject to fewer customs checks and lower or no tariffs.
