Guangzhou (JLC), December 11, 2023 – China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, fell 0.5% in November compared with the previous month, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed on December 9.
On a year-on-year comparison, the CPI also dropped 0.5% in November.
In January-November 2023, the CPI was 0.3% higher than in the corresponding period of 2022, the NBS data showed.
Meanwhile, China's producer price index (PPI), which measures factory-gate goods prices, dropped 0.3% on a month-on-month basis in November, the NBS data indicated.
On a year-on-year comparison, the PPI fell 3.0% in November.
In January-November 2023, the PPI was 3.1% lower than in the corresponding period of 2022, the NBS data showed.
